A six storey rendered brick former warehouse on bluestone footings. Built in the early 1860’s as a much smaller structure it was substantially remodelled in the Italian Renaissance Palazzo style and refurbished into a five storey building by the builder Turnbull & Dick for the clothing manufacturers Banks Brothers Bell & Co in 1870. The top storey was added around 1905 to a design by the architects Billing & Peck. The present shop facades with a terracotta faience and featuring Egyptian motifs were added in 1928. Refurbished and subdivided into sixty residential apartments and two shops in 2000.
